The wedding day is about the couple, and Rabbi Katz makes sure each ceremony is personalized and meaningful.
Neal Katz has been the rabbi at Congregation Beth El in Tyler, TX since 2003. He was ordained at Hebrew Union College (HUC-JIR) in Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior to rabbinic school, he attended George Mason University in Virginia where he received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and spent two years of graduate school studying writing and counseling.
Originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rabbi Katz has also lived in Washington, D.C. and Israel.
In addition to his pulpit life, Rabbi Katz is also a performing singer/songwriter and music producer.
He teaches at the local university in Tyler and is active on a number of non-profit boards.
Rabbi Katz welcomes the opportunity to get to know you better and officiate on your special day.
Planning Your Day
Rabbi Katz wants to make this fun, not complicated.
As you plan your wedding ceremony together, the rabbi will meet with each couple in person or though video chat. After getting to know the couple and their vision of the wedding, he will work with them to tailor the ceremony to their needs. This process takes a few sessions – and in the end, the wedding will be based on the traditional Jewish ceremony but personalized to the couple. In addition, Rabbi Katz offers pre-marital counseling during these sessions.
Rabbi Katz obsesses about making everyone at the wedding – the couple, the family, and guests – comfortable.
